Hello Steels fans.
So I’ve just got back from The Steels Trust charity launch at the Manzil Indian restaurant and what an eventful night it turned out to be!
The aim of the night was to raise money for The Steels so there were a number of comical ways to spend money for a good cause. One that was not so comical was a donation bucket that if contained £100 before the end of the night meant that I would have some of my legs waxed. For those of you that have not seen the state of my leg hair, it has been compared to that of a forns (half goat thing from the lion, the witch and the wardrobe). Unfortunately for me, my legs ended up getting waxed. Typical!
But that wasn’t the only source of hilarity for those lucky people who attended that fateful night. We also had a quiz and an auction containing some extremely sort after items. Both myself and Adam had donated an hour’s instrument tuition each, but among the other typical items in the auction there was one Lot that caught everyone’s attention.............................A DATE WITH SIMON. With most of the other Lots fetching £25-£100, there was much excitement in the air as to who would be able to bid the most for such a momentous opportunity. As the bidding begun at £1 confusion spread among the ranks as everyone waited with baited breath to hear who might be bidding for the chance of a lifetime. Unfortunately, everyone seemed to be doing this and not actually bidding. After what seemed like an age Simon’s mum Carol came to his rescue with a courageous bid of £2.00, exactly double the starting price! But it wasn’t all doom and gloom for poor old Si, as a few minutes later one of our good friends Alex Scott came to his rescue with a final bid of £2.50. All in all it was a good night, lessons were learnt (mainly by Simon) and thanks to everyone’s generosity we managed to raise quite a bit of bunce!
Before I go everyone check out the new Paramore album Called ‘Brand New Eyes’ its mint.
